Lucky Duck and Lucky Man – A Christmas Story (part 1)
Hi! I’m Thanos! This is an unboxing story of games that arrived early this Christmas 🙂 Publisher: Lucky Duck Games In the standalone game Chronicles of Crime: 2400, you can use all the latest technology to solve crimes. Your pet Cyber-Raven can analyze evidence and search the web to find information on suspects. During the course of a scenario, you may also obtain cybernetic implants that would increase your abilities. Super-senses that help you find evidence on the crime scene? A tomograph to quickly check the person you’re talking to for cyber enhancements? Or maybe a zapper to quickly neutralize any electronic device? The future is full of useful stuff! Be careful though, as the technology is not always on your side! Is the character you’re talking to a human or an android? Who’s hiding behind the avatars you meet in the virtual cyberspace locations? The struggle between criminals and detectives is millennia old, but at the beginning of the 25th century, it’s been taken to a whole new level. The Destinies: Sea of Sand expansion comes with three scenarios that form a campaign that should be played in the suggested order. We recommend playing the whole campaign with the same group of players, but this is not mandatory. Scenarios are linked together, and each unveils the next steps of a bigger plot, but each scenario is a separate story, and knowing previous scenarios should not give a player any unfair advantage. Sea of Sand also adds new dungeon and maze mechanisms, alongside the use of “sub-maps” to represent the vast distances of the Saharan desert and the locations players will visit. Kids Chronicles: Quest for the Moon Stones is a family, co-operative game of adventure and mystery investigation, mixing a board game and app. As magicians’ apprentices, players dive into the fairy tale lands of the Kingdom of Summer and the Winter Empire. Accompanied by the faithful familiar, Nills The Moon Cat, they embark on a quest to find four magical Moon Stones. To achieve their goal, young magicians have to solve numerous mysteries and help inhabitants of both Kingdoms overcome their problems. Using the Scan&Play technology, each component — locations, characters, items, etc. — has a unique QR code, which depending on the scenario selected will activate and trigger different clues and stories. Experiencing the 3D scenes requires only a mobile phone or a tablet. Players simply hold their mobile device in front of their eyes to immerse themselves in the game’s universe and search for clues in a virtual world. Tranquility is a co-operative card game in which players must fill the sea with islands — specifically island cards with numbers on them — and guide the ship home before any player runs out of cards. Note that in the world of Tranquility, the only way to play is in silence. The goal of the game is for the team to complete the grid before any player runs out of available actions. Cards must be placed so that the grid ascends in numerical order from bottom left to top right. All the players win if they manage to complete the grid and have placed a Start and Finish card. All players lose if a single player can no longer play or discard any cards legally following the instructions given below. The players may not, however, communicate. Yummy Yummy Monster Tummy is a co-operative card game of color matching for 2-4 players. Your goal is to complete each level by feeding all of the Creatures foods they like. Each level consists of several Creatures that you must feed. Once a Creature opens its mouth, it’s ready for you to feed it! In any order, each player chooses one Item card from their hand to feed to the Creature by scanning the card’s QR code, which is located on the back of the card. When feeding a Monster, you must feed it Item cards that combine and mix into a color that is similar to the Monster’s fur color. If you feed a Monster a mix of Items that do not result in a mixed color that is similar to their fur color, all players lose the game and must start the level over again. Small Islands is a tile-placement game in which you are daring explorers discovering a magnificent archipelago. Its islands are brimming with natural resources but also temples from an ancient and mysterious civilization.
